GREAT DAY!

Today I had a great day!  I had two divinely appointed meetings.  First, I met with a childhood pastor who is poised to assume a great position in one of the humanitarian organizations in Egypt.  He is still waiting to hear from the Lord on accepting an offer to head up this non-profit that is more than 100 years old.  He called me on his way home after our meeting (4 hours trip each way), to gave me good news.  Remember a couple of weeks ago I had a set back with someone from a certain denomination?  Well, my meeting with this friend resolved this problem and tomorrow should be a historical day of pivotal positive decisions in that denomination.  God is working in the hearts of his people.

The second meeting was with young and upcoming pastor that I believe in 5 years he will be the head of his denomination.  It was very positive vision casting and strategic planning meeting.  I wish I can write more, but I am trying to share my news without jeopardizing the safety of anyone here or putting the ministry at risk.

Finally, tomorrow morning I am traveling about 4 hours to the south to lead the national youth committee of a certain denomination.  What is funny, I am not even a member of that denomination!  God has a unique sense of hummer.  Please pray for divine direction and wisdom in the meeting.  While I am in that city, I will meet with the second highest man in the Catholic Church for area diocese and few other influential ministers, Christian publisher, and businessmen.  I covet your prayers!

Strategic Day!

Today was a strategic day!  I had the opportunity to meet with 5 key pastors from three different denominations that will influence the future of Egypt.  They are strategic Kingdom thinkers with passion for the Lord.  I can’t publish their names or denominations here, but I can tell you that in 10 years they will be leading their perspective denominations.  I am humbled and honored to play a small part in their personal life and ministry. In addition to seeking ministerial counsel, they all have enrolled in our Maters program.  The first pastor comes from the south of Egypt with great influence on his colleges.  The second pastor, used to work with Brother Andrew in Jordan till he was deported by the Jordanian police.  Currently, he oversees a school for the deaf in Egypt.  The third is an accomplished author who pastors in a strategic location on the outskirts of Cairo.  The fourth Pastor is a loyal faithful servant that pioneered a strong work on the outskirts of Cairo.  This Pastor came from no education to a place of great leadership.  The fifth Pastor is a dynamic young pastor who is struggling with Hepatitis C.  Although he is taking a weekly very expensive and very dangerous shut to slow down the virus, yet, he is maximizing every day to serve our Lord.  I love serving with real people with real challenges, yet passionate for Jesus and HIS work.

My day ended with another strategic meeting with an eager pastor from the Sudan who is a refugee in Egypt. My heart melted as I met with the brother, thinking from personal experience how it must feel to be a foreigner.  The brother was like a sponge so eager to learn.

Thank you for enabling us to touch the nations… Your ongoing support of prayers and finances enables us to not only reach the unreached, but also train the national leaders to do the ministry themselves.

On a final note, please pray for my health as I have been feverish with a hard pain in my stomach.  My personal Doctor (my wife) put me on antibiotics and some other meds.  Your prayer is appreciated that tomorrow I will feel better.

Yesterday was an ENCOURAGING DAY!

Sorry, I did not have the opportunity to update my blog for a few days.  I want to tell you about Friday, which was extremely encouraging day.  I met with a young man (just a few days older than me, but it sounds good to call him young man), who has a calling for ministry and a desire to serve with us in our Ministry Center / Clinic in a full time capacity. He actually holds an MBA degree from the USA, speaks great English, but most importantly loves the Lord and is called to the ministry.  Due to the sensitivity of this leadership position we are putting the matter before the Lord in prayers.  We want HIS WILL not ours.  Please continue to pray that we would be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in taking this big decision.

Later in the afternoon we went to El-Moutamdia!  When we arrived we were at a GREAT owe of how the Lord enabled the brother there to build 3 floors above the church. We have been trying for the past 10 years to obtain a permission to build just one floor above the church for Sunday school classes to no avail.  The Lord used the recent revolution in Egypt to guide us to add NOT just ONE, BUT THREE FLOORS each at approximately 4,000sq feet.  I wish you could have seen the excitement on the faces of the brothers!  They will use one floor as a multipurpose hall, another as a day care / Sunday school classes / and the final as a Youth Center. What an exciting time for the church in Egypt.  The future is full of opportunities.  Since I arrived I met with literally 70 pastors more than have of them are using this opportunity of no secret police to fix their church building, something they did not have the opportunity to do for almost 50 years.  Thank you for enabling us to be a part of what God is doing in Egypt! 

Extending ourselves through others in Egypt!

Thanks to your prayers, yesterday was a relatively calm day here in Egypt.  To the contrary to what many expected the demonstrations were uneventful.  Thank God for HIS protection.

On the other hand, today was a very positive day for me.  I had a long meeting with an educational ministry here in Egypt that will adopt our bachelor program in cooperation with LOGOS UNIVERSITY and will teach it throughout Egypt.  This strategic partnership will allow them to offer a bachelor of art in ministry to potential ministers throughout Egypt.  I am excited to the potential of touching thousands of ministers and ministries throughout Egypt as we extend our ministry through others.  I believe that a better equipped leader is a far more effective leader for the Kingdom.  And I see no greater need than equipping the future leaders of the church in Egypt.

Today was a much better day, thank you for your prayers my good friends. I started my day by three meetings back to back with three students who are studying in our masters program.  The three of them teach at one of the Bible Schools here in Egypt.  The first, pastor Magdy is in his mid fifties with a passion for evangelism, the second, Pastor Gamal, is in his mid forties with huge enthusiasm for educating pastors, and the third was Pastor Moody, is in his thirties with an undying zeal for training.  What an honor to be able to impact the three generations and leave a permanent mark on Egypt for many years to come.

My day ended with an excellent strategic meeting with one of the most influential leaders on the Charismatic church in Egypt.  We discussed and planned some things that would impact the future of a major denomination here in Egypt.

Point of prayer – Some plan to have huge demonstrations tomorrow throughout Egypt!  Many people are angry with what they feel as the inaction of the military in bringing the change they desired soon enough.  In fact, many churches have cancelled their weekly children services fearing the demonstrating crowds.  There is much fear regarding what may happen tomorrow.  People are so concerned and are hoping that nothing bad will happen tomorrow.  Please remember to lift Egypt up in prayer during the next 24 hours!

Missing the Prayers of my Mother-in-Law!

When I returned home to the States from Egypt after going through the hardship of the Revolution here in Egypt, my mother-in-law said to me, “I was worried about you, I have been praying for you!” Less than two weeks later,  she went to glory to receive her eternal reward.  During the funeral it hit me, I did not just lose my mother-in-law, but I lost one of my greatest prayer warriers.  She always interceded for us.

During this memorial weekend, I am keenly aware of our loss as I honor her memory.  The unexpected challenges I faced today so remind me of how I missed her and how much Connie and I need your ongoing prayers.

Great Results and Significant Meetings

Thank you for your prayers – I had great meeting yesterday with significant positive results.  As a result of the meeting we will be partnering with a major denomination to impact their youth.  We will do a Youth Conference this summer to enlarge their vision and strengthen their hands.  The conference will draw applications from the life of Joseph to the current events the Egyptian youth are going through now days from vision, hardship, persecution, and faithfulness.  I am so encouraged and excited to the possibilities that will come as a result of this conference.

Today, I have significant meetings with the major leaders of the same denomination.  This denomination is going through major transition and I have a unique opportunity to influence its’ future for the positive.  I am amazed and humbled at the opportunities that the Lord put before us.  Please continue to pray for wisdom and that the Lord will fill me up to do only HIS WILL!
